TrainND's Commercial Driver's License (CDL) program offers specialized training in various sub-classes to meet the diverse needs of aspiring drivers. Explore our Hot Shot, Fast Track, and Hazardous Material (H Endorsement) courses for a comprehensive CDL experience.

CDL Courses

CDL Program

Four-week • 165-hour course • Meets FMCSA ELDT regulations

A comprehensive program with classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction. Students learn key commercial driving concepts and skills with driving practice on the road, backing range, and in various driving conditions. Upon successful completion, students will be prepared and scheduled to take the state regulated CDL test.

Students who obtain their CDL license prior to the end of the course may be eligible to take offered post-CDL modules with job-specific training.

Fast Track

Two-week • 120-hour course • Meets FMCSA ELDT regulations

A comprehensive program with classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction. Students learn key commercial driving concepts and skills with driving practice on the road, backing range, and in various driving conditions. Upon successful completion, students will be prepared and scheduled to take the state regulated CDL test.

Students who obtain their CDL license prior to the end of the course may be eligible to take offered post-CDL modules with job-specific training.

Hot Shot

40-hour course • Class A Restricted CDL

Designed for drivers seeking a Class A Restricted Commercial Driver's License to operate a CMV with an automatic transmission and no airbrakes (often referred to as a Hot Shot License).

This Class A CDL has equipment restrictions (E, L, O) and does not qualify a driver to operate a tractor trailer combination, a CMV with a manual transmission, or a CMV with airbrakes.

Hazardous Material for H Endorsement

8-hour course • Meets FMCSA Part 380 Appendix E requirements

Classroom-based training to enhance hazardous material knowledge for CDL drivers. Driver-trainees seeking an H endorsement must complete this curriculum to take the state-administered knowledge test for the H endorsement.

One week • 60-hour course (includes 20 hours online) • Meets FMCSA ELDT regulations

Designed for drivers seeking a Class B CDL. This training is for drivers operating a non-combination commercial vehicle (straight truck) with airbrakes and a manual transmission.

Class B to Class A CDL Upgrade

One week • 60-hour course (includes 20 hours online) • Meets FMCSA ELDT regulations

Designed for drivers upgrading from a Class B CDL to Class A. The upgrade allows operation of a combination commercial vehicle (tractor trailer) with airbrakes and a manual transmission.
