Crane Operators Training

NCCCO Certification Program

TrainND Northwest fully endorses the national certification program offered by the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) and will prepare candidates for the certification examinations. The NCCCO Written exams can be administered as a paper-pencil test at our location, or as a computer-based test at the PSI Testing Center located on the college campus. NCCCO Practical exams are completed in the TrainND Northwest yard, with a Swing cab (TLL), Fixed cab (TSS), and Lattice crane available for seat time and testing.

NCCCO Crane Operator Certification Preparation

This course is specifically designed to prepare crane operators for the NCCCO written and practical exams required for certification. The first 2 days include classroom time with study guides and exercises that emphasize all parts of the NCCCO Core and Specialty written examinations. This course gives students hands-on practice time on our cranes for the completion of practical exams. Tuition includes NCCCO exam fees for Mobile Crane Certification (Fixed Cab, Swing Cab and/or Lattice Crane).

NCCCO Mobile Crane Operator Refresher Course
Crane Operations Course Description

Description: This two-day course will prepare candidates who currently work in crane operations to sit for the NCCCO written examinations for certification/recertification. This program includes a study guide as well as interactive classroom exercises that emphasize all parts of the NCCCO Core and Specialty examinations for mobile cranes (Fixed, Swing Cab, and/or Lattice Crane). This training program is designed to instruct crane operators in important safety, technical, and practical matters relating to crane operations. NCCCO EOT exam fees are not included. TrainND crane program staff can assist with the process to apply for EOT.

10-Day Novice Crane Operator Training Program
Course Information

This two-week course will provide inexperienced students fundamental skills and knowledge relating to crane operation with the end goal of certification through the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO). This program provides both classroom and hands-on training, where students will learn to operate mobile cranes. Tuition includes NCCCO exam fees for Mobile Crane Certification (Fixed Cab, Swing Cab and/or Lattice Crane). This course may be eligible for funding under Veteran’s Educational Benefits or WIOA.

Rigger Level I Certification Course

This course is specifically designed to prepare operators for the NCCCO written and practical exams required for Rigger Level I Certification. The first day includes classroom time with study guides and exercises that emphasize all parts of the NCCCO Rigger Level 1 Exam. The second day of this course gives students hands-on practice time to prepare for the completion of the practical exam. Tuition includes NCCCO EOT and Practical Exam fees for Rigger Level I Certification.

NCCCO EOT Written Exams
Event Online Test Information

Event Online Test (EOT) is an online, written examination for someone to become certified or recertified in specific crane specialties through the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO). EOT testing is offered at TrainND Northwest on Wednesdays starting at 9AM CST (this schedule is subject to change). Please call 701-572-2835 or email us at safety.training@ndus.edu to set up your EOT(s).

NCCCO Crane Operator Practical Examinations
TrainND Northwest

TrainND Northwest offers Lattice Boom, Telescopic Boom- Fixed, Telescopic Boom- Swing, and Rigger Level I Practical Examinations for NCCCO approved candidates. Testing is scheduled based on student need and instructor availability.
