Why Choose WSC for EMT?

Strong local pipeline. Area fire departments offer limited EMT classes, and most now feed directly into WSC. That means your training connects to real employer needs in our region.

Hands-on and workforce-ready. This is an all-inclusive program designed to help you perform on the job, not just pass a test. You will learn by doing through skills labs and ride-alongs.

National certification and career mobility. The program prepares you for the National Registry EMT exam. Once certified, you can qualify to work in all U.S. states and Canada.

A strong foundation for Paramedic. EMT is an excellent entry point into EMS and a natural next step toward WSC’s Paramedic program.

Pathways and Flexibility

  • Students who earned EMT certification elsewhere can still apply directly to the Paramedic program.
  • Students who complete EMT at WSC can move directly into Paramedic for the Fall semester.
