WILLISTON, N.D. – Williston State College (WSC) is thrilled to announce the introduction of Men’s and Women’s Cross Country as NJCAA Division III affiliated sports starting in the Fall 2025 semester. This expansion reflects WSC’s ongoing commitment to providing diverse athletic opportunities that enhance the college experience and support the academic and personal growth of its student-athletes.
“Teton Athletics is excited to add women’s and men’s cross country as NJCAA Division III affiliated sports for the Fall 2025 semester,” said Alex Herman, Athletic Director at WSC. “We believe that with the tradition and success that not only Williston High School, but many other high school programs right in our backyard have experienced, we will be able to offer a fantastic opportunity to student-athletes from western North Dakota, eastern Montana, and beyond.”
The addition of these programs aligns with WSC’s mission to foster school spirit, promote physical well-being, and provide student-athletes with financial support to pursue their education. By participating in collegiate athletics, student-athletes gain valuable life skills and experiences that prepare them for future professional and academic endeavors.
Williston State College is committed to creating accessible and affordable educational pathways for its students. The new Cross Country programs will offer additional opportunities for student-athletes to compete at a high level while pursuing their academic goals.
WSC’s introduction of Men’s and Women’s Cross Country also highlights the college’s dedication to serving the local community. The region has a rich tradition of success in high school cross country, and WSC aims to build on this legacy by offering competitive collegiate programs that attract top talent from the area and beyond.
