BISMARCK, N.D. -- Williston State College's President Raymond Nadolny previously announced on May 16 that he would be leaving his position as president of Williston State College in June 2017 primarily to spend more time with his family. He announced today that he will be leaving WSC earlier than previously anticipated to allow him more time to spend the summer with his three daughters as his family begins the relocation process. His resignation is effective today.
"We respect that decision and are working to make the transition as smooth as possible for WSC students, faculty and staff. We wish Dr. Nadolny all the best and will ask the Board to consider him for emeritus status," said North Dakota University System Chancellor Mark Hagerott.
"We are pleased to announce that Dr. John Miller, current Vice President of Academic Affairs, will take on the role of Acting President," Hagerott said. We look forward to working with Dr. Miller in ensuring a bright future for the college, the community, and, especially, our students.
Dr. Miller has more than 30 years' experience in education, both in K-12 and in higher education. Miller has a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) with an emphasis in Supervision of Instruction. He came to WSC one year ago from the College of Southern Idaho where he was an instructional dean. In his current position at WSC, he has been serving as the vice president of academic affairs.
"I am honored to have the opportunity to serve WSC as we transition to the future. The timing is beneficial because I will have the opportunity to be fully engaged in the kickoff of the academic year and in the budget planning process as we prepare for the Legislative Session," said Dr. John Miller, acting president of WSC.
