Posted: Jun 21 2023
WILLISTON, ND – Williston State College is pleased to announce a press conference and capital project update to be held in the Teton Lounge on the WSC campus on Wednesday June 28, 2023, from 2-3p.m. The press conference will provide detailed information on three major capital projects: Turf Project, the Healthcare Training Facility, and the Crighton Childcare Facility.
During the press conference, WSC President Dr. Bernell Hirning and Janie Cox, Owner of Bright Beginnings Day Care, will provide updates on each capital project, highlighting their objectives, progress, and anticipated impact on the college and the community at large.
The Turf Project seeks to improve WSC’s baseball and softball fields by installing state-of-the-art turf field, providing students with enhanced opportunities for their sports playing seasons. It will increase WSC’s dedication to promoting healthy and active athletics programs for students.
The Healthcare Training Facility, an additional and vital capital project, will strengthen WSC’s healthcare programs and enhance the quality of education for healthcare professionals. The facility will feature cutting-edge equipment and simulated environments to enhance healthcare students’ hands-on training experiences.
In addition, the Crighton Childcare Facility capital project also aims to create a secure and supportive environment that is especially created for young children while also providing crucial support to student-parents enrolled at WSC. This cutting-edge facility will offer top-notch childcare services and encourage parents to maintain a good balance between their professional and personal lives. Students pursuing elementary education with an early childhood endorsement have the chance to complete their practicum hours at the preschool housed within the childcare facility as a result of our collaboration with Valley City State University (VCSU). Students can also submit applications for other scholarships, such as the Teacher Shortage Scholarship provided by VCSU. Please visit our website for more details regarding our partnership with VCSU.
Media will have an excellent opportunity to obtain comprehensive information about these exciting initiatives and their potential implications for WSC and the region at this press conference.
Please visit the capital projects website, located on the WSC website at www.willistonstate.edu/capital-projects for more information about each capital project and their status. Those who are unable to attend in person are encouraged to observe the live stream on YouTube @WillistonStateTetons.
