WILLISTON, N.D. -In a continued effort to raise funds for the Welding department, WSC student welders have again built two 64"x20"smoker/grills that will be raffled off May 14, 2018.
After successfully auctioning off two trailers in January 2017 and two smoker/grills again in May 2017, WSC's Welding Instructor, Tim Delorme, thought creating more auction items would continue the students' on-the-job experience and help raise further funds for the department.
"Having students incorporate print reading and fabrication in a project gives them experience with something they might do in a working shop someday," stated Delorme. "Building these smokers and the two trailers has given my students an objective to complete and a networking opportunity."
Students began selling $20 raffle tickets on 2/28/2018. Tickets will be available until May 14, 2018 when the winners will be announced in the Western Star building (CTE) on the WSC campus.
Tickets are currently available for purchase in the front lobby of the CTE building Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until May 14, 2018. You can also call 701.774.4272
Winners do not need to be present to win. Purchasing a ticket is not a charitable donation. All proceeds remaining after the supply costs are covered will be used for student travel expenses for a program related field trip.
