Weismann Named Editor of Journal of Communication Speech and Theater Association of ND

WILLISTON, N.D. — In February 2021, Dr. Kim Weismann of Williston State College was named the Editor of the Journal of Communication Speech and Theater Association of North Dakota. This is a three-year term which is appointed by the Board of the Communication Speech and Theater Association of North Dakota (CSTAND).
In her role as Editor, Dr. Weismann will call for submissions, review manuscripts and pair them with potential reviewers, and publish the journal in In Design. Weismann stated, “I am excited about this opportunity. This gives me opportunities to work with other communication scholars from around the nation and I have wonderful mentors within CSTAND who have guided me through my new roles.” This position also enters the journal into annual competitions at the Central States Communication Association conference.
The Journal of CSTAND consists of research forum, teaching forum, and undergraduate papers. The Research Forum is devoted to publishing original research in the investigation of research questions or hypotheses. Any methodology (quantitative, qualitative, rhetorical, or critical) is welcome. The Teaching Forum features ideas and in-class activities related to communication and theatre education, forensic coaching, or dramatic arts. This section will also include action research papers on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. The Undergraduate Papers will feature top papers selected to be presented at the CSTAND convention and other papers whose authors designate themselves as undergraduates.
Dr. Weismann is a Professor of Communication and Arts and Human Sciences Department Chair at Williston State College.
