WSC unveils updated, redesigned website

Williston State College is pleased to announce that as of June 1, its newly updated and redesigned webpage is up and running.
According to Angie March, computer and website support technician at WSC, there is a cleaner look to the website. "Now, it will be easier to find things on the website," she said. "We welcome feedback on the site. We're still working to fine tune it for people's use."
"I think for today's student, our virtual door is just as important as our front door," said Dr. Raymond Nadolny, WSC President. "This new website really provides a good look at what our college has to offer today's students."
The new site will not only make it easier for students and potential students to see what the college has to offer, but it will be more user-friendly for the faculty and staff as well. It features a content management system, in which the faculty and staff can manage their own individual pages. "They can update it themselves and stay on top of things, keeping it current," Angie said.
The old website goes back a number of years and it had a lot of old information and old pages. She said that people would go to the site, do a search for specific information and old information would come up. "Because it went through several different webmasters, it wasn't always updated regularly. It's hard to keep track of it all," she stated. "Now we're starting with a clean slate and there should be no old information on the site."
Getting a new website is not a quick nor simple task. According to Angie, getting the new website up and running took about a year of hard work and fine tuning.
"It's still a work in progress," she said. "We'll be working throughout the summer, adding to it. Hopefully by fall, we'll have a more complete website. We're still in phase one of the project."
