WSC supports Miss North Dakota pageant in Williston
WILLISTON, N.D.- Williston State College (WSC) is the biggest donor to the annual Miss North Dakota pageant through scholarships, housing, and donations. The main events of the pageant are held Thursday June 5th through Saturday June 7th at Williston High School Auditorium, with various events at WSC throughout the weekend.
The pageant contestants stay in Frontier Hall on the WSC campus all week, with check-in on Monday June 2nd. This is the third year that they have stayed in this dorm.
Marilyn McGinley, President of the Miss North Dakota Pageant, explains that, "The dorms are a very safe place for the contestants to stay. The girls love it and it creates a great sense of camaraderie."
Each contestant also gets an opportunity for a scholarship with WSC if they are a participant of the pageant, and decide to attend school at WSC. This has also been true for many years. WSC will host the Miss North Dakota Awards Brunch in the Skadeland gym on Saturday, June 7th at 10:30 a.m.
"We can't thank Dr. Nadolny and Terry Olson enough. WSC and the WSC Foundation are very meaningful to us because of their generosity," says McGinley. The Miss North Dakota pageant hopes to one day host all the competition portion on WSC's campus.
