WSC sponsoring a cappella concert March 3; open to public

WILLISTON, N.D. - Williston State College's Student Senate will sponsor the a cappella group Chapter 6 at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at the Williston High School Auditorium.

Chapter 6 is a professional a cappella ensemble from Illinois which features six vocalists and one arranger. According to their website, www.chapter6.com, they are the only vocal ensemble to win both The International Competition of Collegiate A Cappella *2001( and the National Harmony Sweepstakes (2004). They have appeared with The National Symphony Orchestra at The Kennedy Center, and the group was featured on American Idol: Season 7 in conjunction with band mate Luke Menard's Top 16 run.

The group tours the United States, Canada and Asia, performing in a wide variety of venues. They have recorded two collegiate recordings and three professional recordings, which have sold more than 40,000 copies worldwide. Members of Chapter 6 are Chuck Bosworth, Mark Grizzard, Jarrett Johnson, Luke Menard, John Musick, Nathan Pufall, and A.D. Stonecipher.

"Anyone who is a music lover, especially those who like a cappella music, will enjoy this group," said Kayla Retzer, WSC Student Life Coordinator. "I have heard this group and they are a fantastic musical group. Their show will appeal to all ages, young to older."

She said that she enjoyed their wonderful stage presence when she saw them. "They really know how to work the crowd and I encourage everyone to come out and enjoy some outstanding musical talent."

General admission cost is $5 per person. WSC students will be admitted free with their student id cards.
