WSC faculty, Peterson and VanderMolen, granted tenure
WILLISTON, N.D. - Two Williston State College faculty members were granted tenure at the last State Board of Higher Education meeting, April 24 - Matt Peterson and Derek VanderMolen.
Peterson, an Assistant Professor of Economics and native of NW North Dakota, has spent six years teaching at WSC as a full-time instructor and an additional year previous to that as an adjunct instructor. Vander Molen, Assistant Professor of Chemistry and native of Kentucky, came to the Williston area from Illinois six years ago and has been teaching at WSC ever since.
In an email, WSC Provost and Vice President to Instruction, Wanda Meyer said of Peterson and VanderMolen, "This recognition is well deserved for both individuals."
Meyer further went on to thank both faculty for their hard work and dedication to the students of the college. "You have made a difference and I am confident that you will continue to do so in the future."
Both Peterson and VanderMolen's receipt of tenure will be recognized during the Spring 2014 Commencement ceremony on Friday, May 16th. They will also be elevated to Associate Professor status upon the start of their new contract, July 2014.
