WSC Monuments Reveal slated for September 28
Posted: Sep 09 2022
The Williston State College Foundation, in coordination with Williston State College, is planning a Monuments Reveal for September 28, 2022.
The monuments that dot the WSC campus create a historical perspective about the region, Western North Dakota, and Eastern Montana.
“Discussions with faculty, staff, Dave Njos and with the public made it apparent that something like this would really dress up our campus,” said former WSC coach and Foundation Executive Director, Terry Olson.
The reveal is planned for 5:30pm, Wednesday, September 28, 2022, for the public beginning at “Clark’s Table,” just north of the Science Wing attached to Steven’s Hall. A welcome by WSC Foundation Executive Director, Hunter Berg and WSC President, Dr. Bernell Hirning will kick off the program, and a walking tour of each monument will follow led by Associate Professor Richard Stenberg who will give a brief synopsis of each monument and its meaning.
“With the help of generous donors and the WSC Foundation, this project became a reality,’ said Olson.
Golf carts will be provided for those who may require further mobile assistance.
In case of inclement weather, the Monument Reveal and tour will be rescheduled at a later date.
NOTE: This is a developing story, with a follow up story to follow in the coming weeks. Media is encouraged to attend this event on Sep. 28.
