WSC Mo-vember contest ends Nov. 30 at hockey game
WILLISTON, N.D. - November is at the end and for the men of Williston State College, that means the end of Mo-vember as well.
Mo-vember is a fund-raising contest sponsored by the Teton Activity Board in which November was declared "no-shave November". The men of the campus were asked to grow a mustache and those who chose to participate will have their photo taken during the day on Nov. 30.
The contest will end at the WSC hockey game against Dakota College at Bottineau at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the Agri-Sports Complex on the Upper Missouri Valley Fairgrounds in Williston. Those attending the game will be able to vote for their choice for the best mustache and the winner will be announced during the game.
The Teton Activity Board will be selling fake mustaches at the game so that everyone can be involved and feel a part; and the Relay for Life team will be selling baked goods. A portion of the admission to the hockey game, and all proceeds from the bake sale and mustaches will be donated to the Relay for Life team with the funds going to prostate cancer research.
"When we think of Relay for Life and raising money for cancer research, we often think of breast cancer and the women usually get very involved in the fund raising," said Kayla Retzer, WSC Director of Marketing. "This was a way for the men of the college to get involved in raising funds for Relay for Life and to have fun doing it."
Also at the hockey game, Head Hockey Coach Seamus Gregory has announced that a silent auction will take place, with funds going to the WSC hockey program. Up for auction will be six tickets to the December 17th UND Game versus the Russian Under 20 World Junior Hockey Team - this package includes a one night stay at the Cand-Am; a Jonathon Toews signed hockey picture; and a panoramic picture of first WSC game which was Oct. 26.
