WSC Head softball coach resigns

WILLISTON, N.D.- Scott Wachholz has resigned as Williston State College's head softball coach.

Wachholz is leaving WSC to be the head softball coach at the University of Wisconsin- Parkside. Parkside is located in Somers. Wisconsin.

Wachholz has been with Teton athletics since July of 2013, just over a year ago.

Over the past year, Wachholz had a winning record of 30-17. He also won a region 13 championship and had 7 all-region team members.

  Wachholz was also in charge of the strength and conditioning program for all of the Teton athletic program.

Dan Artamenko, the athletic director at WSC, says of Waccholz, "Scott has had a very successful year and we are excited that he got an opportunity to go home and pursue his career there. The entire athletic department is grateful for everything he did for our program."

The athletic department is actively searching for a new coach. The hiring process is occurring right now with the new head coach expected to be named shortly.
