WILLISTON, N.D. - Cowboy Christmas will be at The Well on the WSC campus on Saturday, December 7th. Events start at 3 p.m. with North Dakota and Montana vendors selling a variety of goods, which will be open to the public. At 6 p.m., with a $40 ticket, guests can enjoy a social, silent auction, prime rib dinner, recognition for Carcass Challenge participants, speaker Trent Loos, music and dancing, and the National Finals Rodeo live on the big screen.

The shopping with North Dakota and Montana vendors will go from 3 to 9 p.m., and a silent auction will feature their items from 6 to 9 p.m.

The social will begin at 6 p.m. with a cash bar courtesy of the American Legion Club. At 6:30, guests will enjoy a prime rib dinner catered by R. Rooster BBQ Company.

At 7:15 p.m., awards will be given out to last year's winners of the Carcass Challenge and those who have donated steers to this year's program will be recognized. The Carcass Challenge proceeds, along with those from Cowboy Christmas, fund the WSC Agriculture Club and Ag Ambassadors program, and the event is a special thank-you to those who keep the programs going. "That's really the whole reason for doing this," said Kim Murphy, assistant professor of Agriculture at WSC.

Murphy would also like to thank the sponsors of Cowboy Christmas: Northern Pulse Growers and ND Adult Farm & Ranch Management.

At 7:30 p.m., there will be a special presentation by Trent Loos, an agriculture advocacy speaker and entertainer. Loos is from Nebraska and his talks have brought him all over the world. More information on Loos, as well as samples of his popular podcast, can be found on his Facebook page at www.facebook.com/trent.loos.

Music and dancing will go from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., and the National Finals Rodeo will be broadcast live from Las Vegas courtesy of Northern Satellite.

Tickets for Cowboy Christmas are $40 (call for children prices) and will be available at the event. Advance tickets can be purchased by going online to www.willistonstate.edu and clicking the Cowboy Christmas banner on the website's homepage.
