WSC’s Kaylyn Bondy transitions to Bismarck State College

WILLISTON, N.D. - Williston State College would like to congratulate Kaylyn Bondy, Vice President for Student Affairs, on her new position with Bismarck State College.

Bondy has accepted the position of Vice President for Student Affairs at BSC. She will finish at WSC on June 23 and begin her new role on July 1.

Bondy, a Williston native and graduate of Williston High School, earned a BA in French and sociology from the University of North Dakota, a master's degree in international business from l'Institut d'Administration des Entreprises à Caen, France, and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas.

She will complete her Ph.D. in higher education from the University of North Dakota in 2020.

Hired August 1, 2011 at WSC, Bondy began as the Registrar and Director for Institutional Research and Effectiveness. Prior to WSC, she led an international English as a second language school in Las Vegas, Nevada, and taught ELL abroad in Canada and France.

In 2015, Bondy transitioned to her current role as WSC's Vice President for Student Affairs. While in Student Affairs, she worked closely with enrollment management, accreditation, and compliance.

"Working at WSC has been an invaluable experience," explained Bondy. "The staff, faculty, and students truly embody WSC's mission of 'Where the People Make the Difference.' The opportunities I have been afforded to grow and learn alongside students and employees at WSC will not be forgotten."

"It has been an honor to serve in my hometown and I very much look forward to the opportunity to continue serving students in North Dakota."

Bondy is a member of the board of directors for the North Dakota Women in Higher Education Network and Chair of WICHE's Western Alliance of Community College Academic Leaders.

She is also one of 40 leaders from around the United States recently selected for the Aspen Rising Presidents Fellowship 2020-21 Class.

The fellowship is a highly selective leadership program preparing the next generation of community college presidents to transform institutions to achieve higher and more equitable levels of student success.

"It is always tough when the college loses bright young leaders, especially one such as Kaylyn, who has always carried a 'students first' attitude in her role as VP for Student Affairs," emphasized Dr. John Miller, WSC President. "We will miss Kaylyn and her departure is a loss to WSC, but it is a good career move for her and she will quickly become an important asset to student services at Bismarck State College."
