Williston High School's CJ Vinger will play both basketball and baseball for Williston State this coming year. Vinger, an All-State performer in both sports for the Coyotes, will join strong recruiting classes for both Teton programs.
On the court, Vinger averaged 16 points and 7 rebounds per game as a senior, earning All-State and All-Conference honors. Vinger shot 49% from the field and 30% from the three-point line.
Hunter Berg: "We look forward to having CJ on our team. We think he brings a great characteristic to our team with his knack of being in the right place at the right time. Offensively, we'll try to put him in situations where he can use his craftiness to score points around the basket. We also think he can step out and shoot the ball from the perimeter. He has good size which should help him adjust to the physical play in the paint."
Shawn Cote: "CJ will be a great addition to the Teton baseball team. CJ has the potential to develop into one of the top players in the region on the mound and also as a position player. His size strength and athletic ability will allow him continued success at the next level."
With the Keybirds this season CJ hit .415 with 4 HRs and 57 RBI. On the mound CJ was 4-7 with a 4.57era. CJ lead the team in strikeouts with 74 in 62-2/3innings.
