WILLISTON, N.D. - Teton Athletics' annual dinner and fundraising auction event, Casino Night, brought in over $25,000 from its live and silent auctions this past April 22.
Auction prizes this year included a custom painted NDSU golf cart, suite tickets to the Brickyard Race in Indianapolis, Mike Tyson signed memorabilia, mementos from the Twins baseball parks, and a Pete Rose signed bat.
Over 90% of the tables for this year's event were sold. The general registration fees covered the event's expenses and the remainder went to Teton Athletics.
Dan Artamenko, WSC Athletic Director, is proud of the high attendance and donations from this year's Casino Night, but is always looking to improve with more sponsorships and donations for next year's programs.
"Sponsorships came from a lot of community businesses. We were lucky, we had so many business support Casino Night which makes it all possible,"Artamenko explained. "Casino Night is an integral part of the successful operation of Teton Athletics every year and this year was no different, we were very fortunate this year."
The majority of the proceeds will go to scholarships for student-athletes for the next calendar year due to rising costs of attending college.
"Thank you to all the community members who donated for Casino Night," Artamenko said. "Our fundraising events are a great way to get local businesses more involved and get their names out there in support of our college athletic programs."
Fundraising and community involvement is under way with several events coming up this summer:
Teton Hockey's Golf Scramble, Friday, June 3, Eagle Ridge Golf Course
WSC Basketball's Badlands Showcase, June 7, 8, 9, WSC Campus, The Well
Donn Skadeland Golf Tournament, August 27, the Links of North Dakota.
