Registration days scheduled at WSC July 30, Aug. 15, 20
WILLISTON, N.D. - Williston State College is pleased to announce that registration for the 2012 fall semester has begun. Specific days for registration have been scheduled for July 30 from 1-4 p.m.; Aug. 15 from 1-4 p.m.; and Aug. 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students are asked to pre-register for the date they would like to attend; deadlines for pre-registration are July 23 for the July 30 date; Aug. 8 for the Aug. 15 date; and Aug. 13 for the Aug. 20 date.
According to Brittney O’Neill, WSC Admission and Records Associate I, application must be made and the prospective student must be accepted for enrollment before the registration process can begin. Application for admission can be completed by going to the WSC website, www.willistonstate.edu/apply.
“Once they apply and are accepted, they will get a letter in the mail with their student identification number, instruction on how to set up their user name and campus email and how to log in,” O’Neill said. “Once they log in, there will be a to-do list with everything they need to turn in to us to complete the registration process.”
On the day of registration, students must have their application fee, an official high school transcript, official scores of their ACT or SAT tests, or the COMPASS test for those who took that exam, an emergency contact form, and documentation of their MMR vaccinations.
“We ask the students to come 15 to 20 minutes early for registration so we can get them checked in, do their IDs, etc.” O’Neill said. “Then we all meet together for an informational session, and then, if they had trouble getting logged in to the Campus Connection, IT personnel will be there to help them with that.”
After they are set up and ready to go, students will meet with a faculty advisor to help them get their class schedule set up, and O’Neill and Registrar Kaylyn Bondy will be on hand to get the students enrolled before they leave.
O’Neill stated that registration days are set up to help the students and the college as well.
“We are trying to get students to get registered ahead of time so they’re not scrambling for classes at the last minute,” she said.
