Rasmussen named the Regional Director for Technical Programs and Training at TrainND

Posted: Jun 04 2018

WSC is pleased to announce that Pam Rasmussen has been named the Regional Director for Technical Programs and Training at TrainND starting July 1.

Rasmussen took over as director of the TREND (Training for Regional Energy in North Dakota) Grant at WSC in late 2015. Since that time Pam has worked closely with the WSC's Career and Technical (CTE) Education programs including Petroleum, Diesel, Welding, IT and Business programs. In addition to grant administration, Rasmussen has worked with industry advisory boards, curriculum development and student advisement, and in general supported whatever is necessary to move programs forward. Recently, Rasmussen helped to secure a National Science Foundation grant for the Petroleum program.

"Williston State and TrainND will benefit from the financial acumen, organizational skills, and business connections Pam Rasmussen brings to her new role.  She will build on a solid foundation of training and service that has been established during the long and successful tenure of Deanette Piesik. I am excited as TrainND enters a new chapter in its history," stated WSC President Dr. John Miller.

Rasmussen was born in North Dakota and raised in eastern Montana. Rasmussen earned her BA at Gustavus Adolphus College, MBA at Western Governors University, completed the Colorado School of Banking, and holds two senior HR certifications.  Pam raised her two daughters in Montana and Idaho while pursuing a banking career that started in 1989.

Prior to her role at WSC, Rasmussen was EVP/COO-CAO of a 19 location, 3-state financial institution headquartered in Sandpoint, Idaho. Rasmussen areas of expertise and oversight encompass all aspects of operations, including HR and project management. Pam has also served on and held officer positions with bank and non-profits boards.

"I'm looking forward to working with TrainND's staff, industry partners, board and stakeholders who are committed to continuing TrainND Northwest's legacy of serving the workforce needs of the region," stated Rasmussen.
