WILLISTON, N.D. - Parking signs have been added to the Williston campus to adjust to the influx of students and increased traffic on site.
Four new designated lots have been created: Resident (R1-3), College (C1-4), Visitor (V1) and WARC (W1-3) parking. Spots located in the front drive will be designated as 30-minute parking. Visitors are encouraged to enter the Front Drive and park in the lot at the East end of the drive or in the 30-minute parking along the drive. Students, faculty, and staff will park in the College parking, students living on campus will park in Resident and the ARC customers should park in the WARC lots.
"We have a beautiful campus and plenty of parking, but people don't always know where to park," Jenny Wolf, WSC director of creative services said. "The new parking lot designations should make every visit to campus more enjoyable."
Williston State College has no plans to issue parking permits. The intent in creating new signage is make it easier to navigate where to park.
"With the number of athletic events in the Well, from Teton games to Region 8 tournaments, having the ability to easily guide fans to ample parking is imperative," Dan Artamenko Williston State College athletic director said.
Since WSC often hosts events not affiliated with the college, visitors need clear directions for parking.
"Directional instructions are often a hurdle when planning and hosting events here at the college, the new parking system will streamline the planning process, assisting our clients while preventing many guests from the usual 'where do I go?' confusion," Holly Meyers, WSC conference services coordinator expressed. "This is a great accomplishment for WSC!"
