WILLISTON, N.D. - Williston State College Foundation (WSCF) is restarting its Alumni Association, bringing back WSC alum, Hunter Berg, to become as WSCF's Alumni Association Director in July.
With its goal to provide a database for WSC alum and keep past students up-to-date with current events at the college, the WSC Alumni Association is something that has needed updating and attention. A longtime goal of the Foundation the Alumni Association has been patterned after several other colleges in the state and region.
"We do our best to keep our alums up to date with our semi-annual alumni magazine, the Teton Thunder, but we have always wanted to focus back on alumni association," Terry Olson, WSCF Executive Director explained. "We knew as enrollment increased of students increased a full-time position was necessary to keep everything organized."
Berg will also fundraise for endowments and larger gifts.
Berg played two successful years at UND-Williston (now WSC), under Terry Olson's lead as Head Men's Basketball coach and graduated in 1996. Though Berg transferred to University of North Dakota to attend school and continue his basketball career, Williston remained closed to his heart.
Berg returned in 2003 to coach WSC Women's Basketball. He later became Head Coach of the Men's basketball team and served as WSC Athletic Director.
"Hunter is perfect to lead the Association," Olson stated. "He's a well-respected alum. We are excited to have him back and join our team."
