FOERTSCH LEADS STATE STAFF SENATE

The North Dakota University System Staff Senate elected James Foertsch as its president June 13. Foertsch is Williston State College's vice president for business services and chief operating officer. His term will end June 2013.

"I'm honored and humbled by this opportunity to represent NDUS staff members," Foertsch said. "Staff in the university system support a variety of functions and services which aid in the growth of our students, and I'm excited to be their voice."

Foertsch, a Wyndmere native, joined WSC in February 2010 and advanced through several positions in the Business Office. He graduated from North Dakota State University in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in business administration and from the University of Mary with a master's degree in strategic leadership in 2011.

The State Staff Senate serves staff members at the 11 NDUS institutions. The State Staff Senate identifies staff interests and issues; acts as a forum for staff-related matters; and promotes communication between the NDUS campuses' Staff Senates, the NDUS chancellor and the State Board of Higher Education.
