WILLISTON, N.D. - Reflecting its record-breaking enrollment for the second consecutive semester, Williston State College (WSC) saw an increase of honor students in both the Dean's List and the President's List for Fall 2015.

Students who have earned a 3.8 grade point average (GPA) or higher while enrolled in twelve or more credits for the Fall 2015 semester are named to the President's Honor Roll. WSC's President List's saw a 48% increase in students since Fall 2014 with 89 students receiving this honor.

Students who have earned a 3.5-3.70 GPA while enrolled in twelve or more credits for the semester are named to the Dean's List. WSC's Dean's List saw a 38% increase from last year with 73 students receiving this honor.

"Speaking for an institution that values academic success, it is such a pleasure to honor students that have worked hard to receive these academic achievements," stated Crystal Hotchkiss, WSC Registrar, Research Analyst.

Being part of this distinguished group also makes each student eligible to be part of WSC's Alpha Rho Iota Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), a national honor society. To conserve eligibility, each student must maintain twelve credit hours per semester and keep an average of 3.30 GPA while attending WSC.

PTK meets weekly and plans fundraising events for charities in the Williston Community throughout the year.
