Posted: Mar 17 2017

WILLISTON, N.D. - Gearing up for the upcoming fall semester, WSC has released its Summer and Fall 2017 course schedules, opened its housing application, and scheduled nine registrations days.

"We are anticipating that classes will fill early," said Leah Windnagle, Director for Enrollment Services. "For students to get the course schedule they would like; we are strongly encouraging reviewing schedules and registering early."

WSC has already seen a 70% increase in the total number of applications received in comparison to this time last year.

Students can review the summer and fall schedules at www.willistonstate.edu/schedules.

Registration days were established to help students with the process after they apply to WSC. Students can visit campus, meet with an academic advisor, select and enroll in classes for fall, obtain their student ID, and receive financial aid assistance they may need.

WSC is hosting nine registration days before the Fall 2017 semester begins:

Friday, August 18   9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

"Now that the Regional County Scholarship covers nine local counties, we want to do everything we can to make the application and enrolling process simple for our future students," stated Windnagle.

The Regional (RCS) and Williams County Gradate Scholarships (WCGS) cover tuition and fees for up to four consecutive semesters (excluding summer).      2017 high school graduates and GEDs earned within Burke, Daniels, Divide, McKenzie, Mountrail, Richland, Roosevelt, Sheridan, or Valley County are eligible for the RCS. Williams County high school graduates and GEDs earned in Williams County, no matter the year, are eligible for the WCGS.

Those eligible can submit the 2017 WSC Admissions Application & Fee before May 1, 2017 to receive the RCS or WCGS.   Students who are receiving the Fall 2017 RCS or WCGS are eligible for the Fall 2017 Regional Housing Scholarship ($1000/semester) once their application for admission and housing applications are complete. Applying early can help ensure a spot in housing.

"Returning students who re-apply for housing before May 15th will be entered to receive a $250 housing waiver for the Fall 2017 semester," explained Kevin Cole, WSC Housing Director. "We will award four students for next year."
