Bright future for WSC Teton summer basketball camps
WILLISTON, N.D.- Current and former WSC basketball players managed a successful summer basketball camp for inspiring young basketball players the week of May 27th-29th and the weekend of May 31st- June 1st.
Fun-damentals camp was held on May27th-29th with an attendance of around 30 campers. Shooting camp took place on May 31st- June 1st with about 45 campers attending the camp. A total of over 75 campers took part in this year's basketball camps.
Rylee Hernandez, camp director and Teton Athletics assistant basketball coach, says this year was nothing short of successful.
"Whenever you get a group of local youth basketball players together and they leave on that final day more enthused about the game of basketball than they were when they showed up on day one; that's when you know basketball camp was a success," stated Hernandez.
The basketball camps support WSC's vision of being the heart of the communities they serve. As Hernandez says, "These camps are run to bring excitement to our area youth about the game of basketball. It is important for us as a community college to connect to our community and one way we do this is through having these basketball camps."
Hernandez and the other camp instructors are excited for the future of the camps. They look forward to seeing a Team Camp here at WSC next summer, and the following years.
