Boateng leaves Williston State as graduate and returns as faculty member
WILLISTON, N.D. - Oforiwaa Boateng has been appointed as the new Coordinator and Instructor for the Adult Learning Center. A familiar face to many, she graduated from Williston State College twice in recent past.
Boateng came to Williston in 2006 from Boston upon a friend's recommendation where she pursued a degree in nursing. She graduated from Williston State in 2008 with an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing and again in 2011 with an Associate in Science. Boateng then successfully transferred to the University of North Dakota where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Starting nursing classes at the age of 25, she was an adult learner herself. Experienced in the challenges an adult learner faces, she has the necessary background to succeed in her new position. Wanda Meyer, the Provost and Vice President for Instruction, had Boateng as a student back in 2006 and is now excited to have her as a fellow faculty member, "She is independent, yet a team player. She will bring much integrity to her position."
Boateng is excited to be back at WSC and is impressed with all the changes that are happening.
"It's very interesting to see the change since 2006- change for the good. I am proud to call WSC my alma mater." During her free time, Oforiwaa enjoys spending time connecting with her friends and family. She also works at Bethel Lutheran Nursing and Rehabilitative Center as a PRN or on an as needed basis.
