Williston, N.D., May 13th - WSC will have their annual Nursing Pinning Ceremony, Friday May 15th at 1:30 in the Well. Each year as nursing students graduate from, the Nursing Pinning Ceremony occurs to symbolically welcome each new nurse into the nursing community. "Wearing of the nursing pin is a source of pride and privilege earned by graduates of the nursing program. In addition to receiving a pin specific to Williston State College, the nursing student will participate in the lamp lighting ceremony as they recite the Florence Nightingale pledge. They promise to keep confidence of each client family. They pledge to be active in assisting other in safeguarding and promoting health and happiness," Johnson explained. "The pinning ceremony is part of a long tradition that acknowledges nursing graduates as belonging to a unique group and identifies them as new members of the health care community."
