Federal Student Aid

Types of Aid

Grants

Financial aid grants are funds provided to help students pay for college or career school. Grants do not need to be repaid, except under certain circumstances (e.g., withdrawal or changes in enrollment).

Loans

Education loans are a type of financial aid that must be repaid with interest. Eligibility is typically based on tuition costs and financial need. Federal student loans are determined through completion of the FAFSA.

Federal Work-Study

Federal Work-Study provides part-time job opportunities for eligible students to help cover the cost of their education through earned wages.

Scholarships

Scholarships are financial awards that do not need to be repaid. They are typically awarded based on academic achievement, leadership, community involvement, or other criteria.
