Shooting in Class 1A, Conference 6, the Teton Clay Target Team placed 4th overall in their conference, marking a strong finish in a highly competitive league.
This spring marked the largest season yet for the program, with 20 athletes competing over five weeks of league shooting. Head Coach Penny Slagle expressed pride in the team’s growth and performance.
“We saw a huge leap in both skill and confidence this season,” said Slagle. “This team put in the work, and it showed across the board.”
Individual Highlights
- Carter Ruffie earned 1st Place in Conference 6 with an average of 23.9 out of 25 clays, including two perfect rounds of 50/50 and two rounds of 25/25.
- Samantha Lindquist was a top contender both in the conference and nationwide, finishing as the Top Female in Conference 6 (4th Place) and 4th overall nationally among female shooters, with an average of 23.10. She also scored a perfect 25/25.
- Reece Engleman landed 10th Place in Conference 6, matching Lindquist’s 23.10 average, and achieving three perfect 25/25 rounds.

“This group made us proud,” said Slagle. “With Carter Ruffie leading the conference and Samantha placing top five nationally among female shooters, the future of the Teton Clay Target Team is looking bright.”
The team’s next season will begin in Fall 2025, and WSC looks forward to continuing to build on this momentum.
