Rex Stirling, a 6'8" forward for the men’s team from Melbourne, Australia, was named All-American Honorable Mention, capping off a year defined by physicality and consistency in the paint. Stirling averaged 18.2 points and 10.3 rebounds per game, ranking seventh nationally in rebounding, while hauling in an impressive 151 offensive boards to establish himself as one of the most relentless rebounders in the country.
On defense, Stirling added 24 blocks, while his efficient 57.2% field goal percentage showcased his smart shot selection and finishing ability. His recognition as an All-American highlights not only his individual grit and leadership, but also the continued rise of the Teton men’s basketball program.
Allison Kunze, a sophomore forward for the women’s team from Malta, Montana, earned NJCAA Division I Third Team All-American honors after a season in which she anchored the Tetons on both ends of the court. Kunze averaged 17.8 points, 8.9 rebounds, 43 steals, and 21 blocks while serving as the engine for her team’s success.
What set Kunze apart nationally was her efficiency: she led all of NJCAA Division I in field goal percentage, shooting a blistering 65.2% from the field. The MonDak MVP and First Team All-Region selection combined a high basketball IQ with dominant play in the paint to establish herself as one of the premier forwards in the country.
Both Stirling and Kunze leave behind legacies of toughness, leadership, and elite-level production. Their All-American honors are a testament to their dedication and a signal of the growing strength of Williston State basketball on the national stage.
“The impact Rex and Allison have had on our basketball programs is undeniable,” said Athletic Director and Men’s Head Basketball Coach, Alex Herman. “They’ve set a standard for what it means to be a Teton — both on and off the court.”
As both athletes look ahead to the next level, their names are now etched among the elite in junior college basketball — and their mark on Williston will be felt for years to come.
