Quilting: Art, History, and Tradition – A Creative Showcase at Williston State College

Williston, ND

Williston State College invites the community to experience “Quilting: Art, History, and Tradition,” an engaging afternoon presentation exploring how quilting connects creativity, culture, and community.

Event: Quilting: Art, History, and Tradition • Date: Friday, November 14, 2025 • Time: 3:00 p.m. • Location: Western Star Room 133 (Art Room) • Admission: Free and open to the public.

Hosted by a member of the Dakota Prairie Quilters Guild, this unique program blends lecture and show-and-tell, featuring demonstrations, stories, and displays of quilts, fabrics, and tools that bring to life the artistry behind quilting. Attendees will gain insights into how patterns and techniques have evolved through generations and across cultures, shaping quilting into both a creative practice and a living tradition.

Following the presentation, guests are invited to take part in a Q&A session, offering a chance to ask questions, share experiences, and learn more about quilting opportunities within the region.

Whether you’re an experienced quilter, an aspiring maker, or simply curious about textile arts, “Quilting: Art, History, and Tradition” offers a meaningful glimpse into one of the world’s most enduring art forms.
