Circulation Policy

On-site borrowing privileges are available to students, faculty, and staff of WSC through their WSC ID card.

Patrons are responsible for all materials borrowed on their card. Report lost or stolen cards to the circulation desk as soon as possible. A $25.00 fee is charged by Student Services for replacing a WSC ID.

Loan Periods

Books 3 weeks/renewal
Books on Tape 2 weeks/1 renewal
Videos 2 days/no renewal
Reference Materials, periodicals No circulation
Laptops Return same day prior to close
TI-84 Graphing Calculators 8 weeks days/renewal

Community Patrons

Individuals who are not WSC students, faculty, and staff are allowed to use the Learning Commons for computer access. Community patrons are not allowed to print/copy or check out materials.

Holds

A hold may be placed on library materials that are checked out. The Learning Commons will notify patrons when the materials have been returned and will hold them at the circulation desk for a limited time. Holds may not be placed on reserve materials.

Renewals

Patrons are able to renew their library materials via their library account. Alternative methods of renewal include bringing your student ID or library card to the circulation desk, or by calling 701.774.4594. If you renew by phone, please have your student ID available. Materials are subject to recall.

Resource Sharing

Resource Sharing (formerly interlibrary loan) borrowing privileges are available to currently enrolled students and employees of WSC. Non-campus individuals who wish to borrow WSC Learning Commons materials may do so through their local library.

Notices & Statements

Notices mean the material is already overdue. A statement will include all costs incurred to date. Transcripts, final grades, and diplomas will not be issued until library fines have been cleared.

Overdues & Fines

Fines are not currently placed for overdue materials, (excluding interlibrary loans) unless the item is not returned by the end of the semester it was borrowed in. Materials not returned by the end of the semester it was borrowed in will be considered lost and Patron will be charged a replacement fee.

Lost or Damaged Library Materials

Please report all lost or damaged library materials as soon as possible. Once an item is declared lost or damaged, a $10.00 processing fee plus replacement costs will be charged for each item lost or damaged.
