Williston, N.D., April 13th__Starting Fall of 2015, any graduate of a Williams County High School is eligible for free tuition to Williston State College, but must apply before May 1st to be considered. The Williams County Graduate Scholarship will cover all tuition, fees, and books for two-years thanks to the partnership between the Alva J. Field Trust, WSC Foundation, and the ND Higher Education Challenge Fund.

To be considered, applicants must provide proof of graduating from a local high school (no matter what the year) and must apply before the May 1st deadline. There will be no minimum GPA requirement to maintain the scholarship, but students must keep a good academic standing and be enrolled as a full-time student.

"The Williams County Graduate Scholarship offers an extraordinary opportunity to every high school graduate in Williams County," Lt. Governor Drew Wrigley said. "Under the North Dakota Higher Education Challenge Fund, donors like the Alva J. Field Memorial Trust can enhance their gift with our match money, and direct the leveraged gift to academic enhancements of their design."

Thanks to the generosity of the Alva J. Field Trust, the matching funds of the ND Higher Education Challenge fund and the WSC foundation, qualifying students for the Williams County Graduate Scholarship will be debt-free at WSC.  Just another way that Williston State College is Where the people make the difference.
