Student Toolbox

Welcome to WSC's Student Toolbox! We are excited to have you start your advanced education pathway with Williston State College. This page will provide information for our Early Entry students. Students will have access to early entry links, forms, information on registration and more.

New Early Entry Student Instructions

If you have never taken an Early Entry course through WSC, please follow the steps below. If you have taken dual credit courses previously, please skip to returning Early Entry student instructions.

  1. Apply for Early Entry student admission here. Select "create account". Once your account has been officially created, you will be able to log in and start your application for admission. Early Entry students should select their major/program as non-degree. Once your application has been submitted, it will take 1-2 business days for processing. Once processed, a dual credit student hold will be placed on your account. This will only prevent the student from adding or dropping courses themselves as WSC enrolls the student.
    • Pay the $35 Non-refundable Application Fee. This can be paid when you submit your application online. Students are also able to call and pay over the phone, pay with cash in person or mail in a check.
  2. Claim your Campus Connection Account. You should receive an email with directions on how to claim your campus connection account. This email will also include your EMPLID (Student ID number) which is needed to complete this. This step is very important for students taking classes online, IVN or on WSC's campus.
  3. Complete the Early Entry Enrollment Form. Incomplete forms will not be accepted. The form can be turned in to your counselor, faxed to 701.774.4211 or emailed to
  4. Set up your Student Email. Once you are enrolled, WSC faculty and staff will only respond to emails through your student email.
  5. Access Blackboard. WSC uses Blackboard for IVN, online and some on campus classes. Your login will be the same as your campus connection account. Classes will not be available in Blackboard until 4PM on the first day of the semester.

If you are planning on taking a Math or English course, an ACT/SAT or placement test will be required.

If you are planning on taking a course on WSC's campus, we will require a copy of your immunization record with the following vaccines or our Immunization Compliance Form filled out:

  • Two doses of the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine for students born after 01/01/1957.
  • One dose of the meningococcal vaccine after the age of 16 for all students 21 and under.

Returning Early Entry Student Instructions

If you have previously taken Early Entry courses through WSC, please complete the Early Entry Enrollment Form. If there are no holds that will prevent enrollment, such as a delinquent account hold or awareness education requirement hold, your enrollment will be processed.

Getting your Books

You may need a book depending on the Early Entry course you have enrolled in. Please visit our Bookstore to see what course materials you may need.

Paying your Tuition

Early Entry bills will be mailed out 5 weeks after the start of the semester. The initial amount shown in campus connection will be what the full cost of the course would be without the Early Entry rate. Our Student Finance Office adjusts all of these accounts and sends out a paper bill with the correct amount. If you have questions regarding payment, please contact the Student Finance Office at 701.774.4299.

Dropping or Withdrawing from Early Entry Courses

Students must follow WSC's Important Deadlines when dropping a course. Students are able to drop or withdraw from courses up to the Friday of the 12th week of the term. If you need to drop or withdraw from your Early Entry course(s), please fill out the Early Entry Drop/Withdrawal Form.
