Non-Degree Student

Non-Degree Students are students who are not pursuing a degree or vocational program. Credits earned cannot be credited toward a degree or program diploma until all admissions requirements have been satisfied and their credit records evaluated by the Registrar.

Non-degree students are not eligible for graduation and are not eligible to receive any Title IV financial aid or G.I. Bill benefits. Non-degree seeking students who want to change to degree-seeking must do so prior to course registration for the current semester.

Note: If a non-degree seeking student is already registered in classes for the semester, the change will be effective for the next semester.

A complete admissions file includes:

1.     WSC Admissions Application.

2.     $35 non-refundable application fee.

3.     Documented proof of immunity to measles, mumps, and rubella.  Exemptions to this policy may be granted if your date of birth is prior to 1/1/57 or if the student's beliefs preclude participation in an immunization program. Effective Fall 2017, students aged 21 and younger will require documentation of one dose of Meningococcal vaccination after the age of 16.

4.     Results of the American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). This is required of students 25 years of age or under and/or students with less than 24 semester hours of completed college credit. Students with ACT scores more than five years old must also complete the COMPASS placement exam.

5.     Accuplacer Placement Exam. A student requiring submission of ACT or SAT scores may submit Accuplacer scores in lieu of an ACT or SAT score. All students who plan to take an English or math course must submit appropriate assessment scores prior to enrollment.

Upon completion of your application, you will be contacted by email within 2-3 business days about the status of your application and remaining required documentation. Once your admissions file is complete, you will be notified by email that you are eligible to register for courses and you will need to work with your academic advisor to determine an educational plan.
