Scholarships

A regional scholarship map titled "FUNDING FOR [YOUR FUTURE]." The map highlights North Dakota and eastern Montana counties. Counties in dark green represent the Homesteader Scholarship Region, including Sheridan, Daniels, Roosevelt, Richland, McKenzie, Williams, Divide, Burke, and Mountrail. Surrounding counties shaded in teal represent the broader Scholarship Region across both states. A stylized Teton mascot watermark overlays the map, and the Williston State College "W" logo is centered near Williams County. A legend in the bottom right corner distinguishes between the two scholarship regions.

Why this matters

  • More flexibility than the previous structure
  • Helps cover real college costs beyond tuition

Quick Questions Families Usually Ask

Do I need to complete a separate scholarship application?

Some scholarships are automatic based on admission and eligibility, while others require an application. AwardSpring is required for many internal scholarships when that application cycle is open.

Can scholarships cover more than tuition?

Yes. Under the updated structure, some scholarships such as the Homesteader Scholarship may also help cover books, housing, and food.

What if I already started under an older scholarship?

Students who began before Fall 2025 may still remain under the older scholarship structure if they maintain continuous enrollment and continue meeting requirements.

Who should I contact for help?

WSC Financial Aid can help students and families understand which scholarships may apply and what steps to take next.
